Qwicart is an online grocery shopping platform that enables people, through its android and iOS apps, shop for groceries from their preferred supermarkets in and around Kampala. All one has to do is to is download the app, create an account and start shopping. One can make payments through mobile money or cash on delivery.
Following the success at the recently concluded MTN Innovation Awards where they won best SME app and most innovative app 2017, Qwicart has decided to indulge in the spirit of giving this Christmas season, which is what Christmas is all about, hence the creation of the Qwicart Secret Santa.
The Qwicart Secret Santa campaign is one whereby the app has partnered with several organisations to bring smiles and happiness to those less fortunate. All one has to do is to shop for their groceries through the app for either themselves or for someone else, and 50% of the proceeds generated go to Six and Dove. Six and Dove is an organisation that does a Christmas food drive every 25th of December, and has done so for the past 2 years, where they feed the homeless on Kampala’s streets, and the Bless a Child Foundation, an organisation that takes care of children receiving treatment for cancer.
The company has incorporated a donate function within the app whereby people can donate to these causes through mobile money by simply downloading the app and clicking the donate tab.
Some of the partners taking part in this campaign with us so far are MTN Uganda, NBS Television, Sanyu Fm, Mambo Pay, RoundBob, Kola Studios and Blush media.
