LG Display is taking innovation to yet another level, with the world’s first 65-inch UHD rollable OLED TV set to be showed off at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week. This new prototype display that measures 65-inches can be rolled up like a sheet of paper when not in use.
OLED displays are known to be lightweight and LG believes that its 65-inch flexible display TV can easily be moved and stored in a way that existing displays can’t deliver. Whereas no technical details about the prototype OLED TV are available yet, the company says that it boasts 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution. Based on the preview images LG sent out, the screen slides down into a compact base when it’s not needed.
At CES 2016, LG showcased an 18-inch foldable display prototype that rolls up like a newspaper, and we all were impressed at the invention. Last year, we saw its Signature OLED wallpaper TV at the CES 2017. It measures only 2.75 mm and hangs onto a wall using magnets. This year brings about the prospects of a 65-inch foldable display TV.
Other than the 65-inch foldable OLED TV, LG will also showcase the world’s first 88-inch 8K OLED TV and it has a resolution of 7680 x 4320, which is 16 times the resolution of your Full HD (1920 x 1080) TV.
