Comparison of Postpaid mobile Plans in Kenya

The three main telcos in Kenya; Airtel, Safaricom, and Telkom all offer Postpaid packages. A postpaid mobile plan is a mobile plan for which service is provided by a prior arrangement with a mobile network operator. The user in this situation is billed after the fact according to their use of mobile services at the end of each month. This service is better for people with a secure income. These packages are therefore mainly aimed at the corporates, people who use their phones a lot, be it data, calls, SMS.

All these carriers have their Postpay plans as triple-play bundles (minutes, SMS and bundles) that aims to serve their heavy users. Let us look at what users get with the respective plans from each of the three carriers.

Airtel Smart Postpaid bundles

According to Airtel, the plans cater to the increasing demand for blended offerings that meet all the requirements of our customers. Airtel says that these smart postpaid bundle plans are aimed at offering value for money, convenience, and peace of mind to all Airtel customers.

Airtel Postpaid bundles are priced as follows:

Plan Price Data Airtel – Airtel Calls Airtel to other networks SMS
Smart 1499 Kes. 1499 6GB 1500 Minutes 500 Minutes 3000
Smart 2999 Kes. 2999 30GB 6000 Minutes 1500 Minutes 3000

Airtel customers will need to pay a deposit of an equivalent amount to one month’s cost of their preferred plan. Mobile data that remains after the validity period elapses is rolled over to the following month after the renewal of your bundle. However, voice minutes and SMS are not rolled over. The bundles are valid for 30 days from the day of purchase.
