To play, you’d have to download your games directly from the Xbox marketplace or subscribe to an Xbox game pass for as low as $10 a month. If you’d prefer to save your storage space, you can play games online via the Xbox cloud gaming. 

While you might be skeptical about the load time and fan speed, you don’t have to worry about it. It’s quiet and there are no lags with streaming. The only downside to owning this gaming console is that you have to own a Microsoft account to play games.

Sony Playstation 5

Choose to play games online or offline. To play online you have to subscribe to a plan and they go for as low as $60 a year. With this subscription, you can access tons of free games, additional cloud storage, discount, and multiplayer features. If you don’t want to subscribe, you can access free games by selecting F2P. The only downside to this gaming console is that it can be bulky to carry around. You might also experience a learning curve while starting out.

Nintendo Switch – OLED Model

If you love a good old Nintendo Switch, then you should definitely try out this latest gaming console. It has an OLED screen that ensures you have an optimum gaming experience with brighter graphics. So you can choose to either play it in handheld mode or connect to your TV if you need a wider screen. Split this controller when you want to play with a friend and purchase another one to increase your player count to four.

To play, you either have to download games from the Nintendo E-shop or purchase a physical cartridge. They are tiny and you can slot them in at the top of the switch OLED. With it, you don’t have to download any games. If you prefer to download games you have 64 GB storage and you can extend it with a memory card. 

Xbox Series X

Surprisingly, the controller is smaller than the other designs and it has a headphone jack so you can talk to your friends during tournaments and other events. There’s also the option of Bluetooth headsets if you don’t want to use wired earphones.

Access hundreds of games from the classics to the new releases by subscribing to the Xbox Game Pass. You can also enjoy it as smart Tv thanks to its streaming functionality. So while you can play games, you can access your other favorite apps on this Xbox. It’s also easy to navigate as a first-time user. Unfortunately, since it’s still relatively new, you have to join a waiting list to buy one.

Playstation 4 Pro

If you’re looking for a recent PlayStation model, then the Playstation 4 Pro is a nice upgrade to have – especially from the standard PS4. It’s also the cheapest way to native 4K because it’s capable of outputting native 4K in games. So you don’t have to pay for any new 4K games when you upgrade from the PlayStation 4. And although the games won’t be as great as the PS5, they’ll definitely perform better than the PS4. 

You’d also get a sharper and faster gaming speed, especially in the boost mode. Unfortunately, the PS4 Pro, cannot play your physical 4k media since it doesn’t have an ultra HD built-in player. It’s also a very expensive console to purchase especially when compared to the PS5.
