If you are an Android user who likes to browse the web using Google Chrome, you may have noticed that the address bar is located at the top of the screen by default. This can be inconvenient if you have a large phone or prefer to use one hand to navigate the web.
Fortunately, there is a way to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen on Chrome for Android. Here’s how to do it.
How to Move Chrome Address Bar on Android
- Open Chrome on your Android device and type
chrome://flagsin the address bar. This will open a page with various experimental features that you can enable or disable. - In the search box, type
Chrome Duetand tap on the result. This is the feature that allows you to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on the drop-down menu under Chrome Duet and select one of the options that suits your preference. You can choose between having only the address bar at the bottom, having the address bar and some icons at the bottom, or having a full toolbar at the bottom.
- Restart Chrome by tapping on the Relaunch button that appears at the bottom of the screen. You should now see the address bar at the bottom of the screen, along with any other icons or buttons that you selected.
That’s it! You have successfully moved the address bar to the bottom of the screen on Chrome for Android. You can always revert this change by going back to chrome://flags and setting Chrome Duet to Default or Disabled.
However, there’s a chance Google could once again re-tool the flags interface into a new design with a new flag, but for now, it seems like Chrome Home/Duplex/Duet is dead.
