Smile Uganda intros new Unlimited Platinum data bundle for power users

Has anyone noticed that Emojis are getting bigger? And now even your Facebook news feed  has a torrent of Gifs, Facebook live videos, photos and a lot of information. That’s just a signal that internet apps now require more data to use  — and you probably also need to get on a more serious internet plan.

Smile Uganda last week lured us with their SmileSmart home promotion  which promises subscribers 90GB of free data every month when they recharge a 20GB, 50GB, 100GB bundle or any Unlimited data bundle. Ideally you get 3GB everyday between midnight and 6AM which comes to 90GB every month.

But now Smile has introduced yet another “unlimited” internet plan dubbed UnlimitedPlatinum. With this package, you get 120GB + FREE internet access from Midnight to 6AM at UGX. 550,000 for 30 days at 6 Mbps maximum speeds. Of course Fair Usage Policy(FUP) applies, so you can only Max 6 Mbps if you don’t exceed 60GB. Between 60-75 Mbps, you’ll be capped to 4Mbps, and then 2Mbps and then 1Mbps. However, you’ll have “free” access between Mid-night and 6am.

Here’s how the UnlimitedPlatinum bundle compares with the rest of Smile Uganda’s Unlimited internet bundles.
