Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is now available for purchase in Kenya

Death of flagship smartphone is coming

As part of the Samsung Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy Note 9 was unveiled on 9 August 2018, as the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The new Galaxy is quickly shaping to be one of the best, if not the outright best smartphone of 2018. The no-compromises phablet checks all the boxes of a good smartphone and adds tons of new features in the mix.

Since launch, various global markets have waited with baited breathe for local launches and availability of the ultimate-package smartphone. In Kenya, the device has been on pre-order since August 17th.

These pre-orderers received their units as from the 24th of August together with a bunch of niceties. These included a welcome pack from Samsung Electronics that consisted of Samsung’s new DeX HDMI cable  with enables the user connect the Galaxy Note 9 to a monitor for a desktop experience, a wireless charger and a tripod stand, all worth Ksh 12,000.

The Note 9 is available in Ocean Blue, Lavender Purple / Lilac. The base model with 128GB of internal storage is the only one available at this time, and that goes for a not-so-reasonable Kshs 105,000.

That entry price is high, but then again this is the only no-compromise smartphone in the market. I mean, where else can you get all these in one premium-looking package: A good battery, exceptional camera, the best display in the market, ample storage, an SD card slot, headphone port, no notch, stereo speakers, slim bezels, exceptional build, wireless charging, IP68 rating, S Pen, fingerprint scanner and so much more?
