Huawei Y5 2019 to set to be Launched in Kenya later this month

Huawei is doubling down on the entry to mid-range segment of the market; albeit with a rather messed up naming scheme. The Y5 2019 might not come with the Prime branding like last year’s so there should be a difference between the Y5 and the Y5 Prime 2019.

The new device falls in the Y series family following previous launches of Huawei Y9 2019, Y7 Prime 2019, Y6 Prime 2019, Y5 Prime 2019 respectively in Kenya.

Price guessing competition

As was the case with the launch of the Y6 2019, Huawei has launched a one week campaign on their social media platforms encouraging consumers to guess the price of the device ahead of its launch later in the month. The winner of the price guess campaign will walk away with various giveaway including a Huawei Y5 2019 device.

Speaking of the campaign, Huawei Mobile Kenya, Vice President Steven Li, said, “Due to high demand in the market we are yet again introducing another budget device for consumers who are looking for devices that are value for money.

We will run the price guess campaign as from 9th until 13th May through partnership with Kilimall through this link. We will be rolling out the new device in the market in a weeks’ time and would like you to walk with us and be among the first to get hold of the new device.”
