Vision Group E-paper app to be scrapped off the Play Store

The Vision Group E-paper app will be taken off from the Play Store effective 30th June 2019 to undergo upgrade and maintenance.

Vision Group is a multimedia conglomerate which publishes the New Vision (newspaper), an English language daily newspaper, that appears in print form and online, as well as newspapers and magazines in a variety of Ugandan languages.

The Vision Group E-Paper app was launched in October 2015 to distribute the newspaper through the Internet for Ugandans with tablets, smartphones, and other gadgets. Vision Group developed a payment system that accepts payments through mobile money, and master card for Ugandans in the diaspora.

While the E-Paper app was hinged on enabling readers to buy the digital version of the conglomerate’s newspapers, the user experience was far from excellent.

From slow loading pages and difficult navigation to a heart-attack-ugly kind of look and feel and more. The company is looking to fix the app but first, it needs to take it down as they work towards delivering a fluid solution that meets your needs.

During this time, your existing account will be migrated to the web platform. This platform is only for the desktop version and cannot be accessed via your mobile device.

The updated version of the mobile Vision Group E-paper App will make a grand return to the Play Store in December 2019. For now, users of the app can access their accounts on the desktop platform or just buying the physical newspaper.
