GIGLogistics made the announcement on its official twitter handle today. In Ghana, it will adopt a similar operations strategy like it is in Nigeria – it will be end-to-end logistics, from drop-off till delivery. GIGL main focus, however, will be on Ghana’s eCommerce sector because the company believes the sector is growing very fast.

GIGL will be using technology as a focal to delivering this end-to-end logistics services and be the logistics infrastructure provider for eCommerce businesses in Ghana. This in turn will further boost the sector. A GIG app will be launched soon, which will make it very easy for customers to conveniently use the service. Also, the company has set up two facilities in separate locations in Ghana as it looks to commence operations there.

Because of the high cost of executing this project, GIGL plans to integrate a partner feature that would allow interested investors to invest in bikes and vehicles to do the last mile delivery. (an Uber-like system of operation).
