Oppo is popular around here because of how amazing the cameras on their smartphones are – the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom, for instance.

So, it wasn’t a surprise when the news broke that Oppo was launched a new smartphone, the Reno3 Pro, with a 44MP dual punch-hole selfie camera. According to Oppo, the Reno3 Pro is the world’s first 44MP dual punch-hole camera phone.

44MP Dual Punch-Hole Camera

Oppo Reno3 Pro

I have always wondered why selfie cameras on smartphones rarely come with cameras with high megapixels like rear shooters since they are the most used (for quick selfies, video calls and conferencing, etc.).

Oppo’s introduction of the 44MP dual-hole camera means one thing: more smartphone brands will start paying attention to front camera technology.

The 44MP camera on the Oppo Reno 3 Pro is backed by a 2-megapixel sensor that comes with a depth-of-field sensor, a feature you only find on digital cameras, and rear cameras of certain smartphones.

Price

This smartphone launched in India for 29,990 rupees ($394), and also sells on Amazon India and Flipkart for the same prices. This is a fair price for a smartphone coming with 6 camera lenses.

However, as we have seen with other smartphones in the past that have launched elsewhere, we expect the Oppo Reno3 Pro to cost more here, in Africa
