The Linux Foundation-backed free Introduction to Linux course on edX started yesterday with 200,000 enrollees that has already registered for this free course.
The Foundation announced earlier in May this year that it would be offering a free introductory course that covers the basic tools and techniques commonly used by Linux programmers, system administrators and the usual end users. With Linux running almost every computing device known to man, from the mega supercomputers solving climate change problems to an intimate smartwatch on your wrist, its almost imperative that one should have some Linux knowledge.
Before you jump into this juicy course, the first you want to do is install Linux on your machines. The instructions in PDF format have already been sent out to students.

The course according to its description on edX site is designed for experienced computer users who have limited or no previous exposure to Linux, whether they are working in an individual or Enterprise environment. The entire course is expected to take about 40 to 60 hours and you may audit the course for free or pay for a certificate of completion.
