There are two ways to check your results. One involves sending an SMS to the provided short code, a service that attracts a pretty penny, and another one that have you get these results from the KNEC portal.
- To check a student’s KCSE results via SMS:
- Send the student’s index number followed by “KCSE” (capitalized) to 20076
- No spaces between the index number and “KCSE”
- The cost is KES 25
- To check results through the KNEC website:
- Go to the KNEC website
- Select the year the student sat for the exam (e.g. 2022)
- Enter the student’s index number
- Click Submit
- Student’s results will be displayed on the screen
- This option is free, but a reliable internet connection is necessary.
