Here’s the New Way to Pay for NHIF in 2024

The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a social health insurance institution established under the National Health Insurance Act, Cap 395 with the main objective of ensuring accessibility of health care services to Kenyans.

It is a government entity that operates under the Ministry of Health (MOH). The core function of NHIF is to provide medical insurance coverage to all its members and their dependents (children and spouses). All in all, this is a great way to get access to healthcare.

Well, that changes now as NHIF adopts a different pay bill number for you to do this. This is in line with the government’s new push to centralize all payments to government institutions. Here’s the new way to pay for your NHIF.

How to Pay for your NHIF going into 2024

Important to note is that you will not use your NHIF number to pay, you will use your ID Number instead. The online platform that allows you to select your preferred inpatient and outpatient facilities remains operational.
