Since the launch of the first “Gaga Wednesday” back in 2015. MTN Uganda set a precedence for the demand for mid-week promotional bundle offers and quickly grew in popularity with Airtel introducing Freaky Friday the same year to provide an alternative.
Fast-forward to 2022, and MTN Uganda has rebranded Gaga Wednesday to Gaga Weekend to directly take the war to Airtel’s turf and take a bit of the customer looking for a juicy weekend bundle to binge-watch Netflix and chill.
Here below are the salient features of Gaga Weekend; Key differences compared to the mid-week Gaga Wednesday and steps on how you can buy the weekend promotional bundle?
What’s New With Gaaga Weekend?
- Different weekly data or voice offers. This is similar to the Gaga Wednesday arrangement where every week customers get different data offers at different prices.
- Valid from Thursday, Midnight to Monday, 5:59 AM. Different from the mid-week Gaga Wednesday which was available from Wednesday till Friday night.
- Activation is on the MyMTN app only.
- Activation is limitless within the window of operation. Meaning you can buy the bundle even after Thursday i.e. the first day of its validity. You can buy another Gaga Weekend bundle over the weekend when the one you purchase has depleted or not enough.
- Like most MTN Uganda services, payments are off MTN mobile money and airtime through the MyMTN app.
How to Buy the New MTN Gaaga Weekend?
- Step One: Download and Install the myMTN App app either from Google PlayStore or Apple’s App Store.
- Step Two: Deposit or check if you have enough mobile money or airtime balance.
- Step Three: Register or Login to access the myMTN app control dashboard. Select “Buy” then “Data“. Choose the option of “Gaga Weekend” to be able to see the offer of the week.
- Step Four: You will be presented with the weekly Gaga Weekend offers. Choose the offer you are interested in and buy the bundle.
- Step Five: Approve your purchase and complete the transaction by choosing your payment option of either MoMo or airtime to use the promotional bundles.
