Nokia brings In-App Payments with the new Nokia Asha 501

Nokia will be introducing Nokia In-App Payment, a new tool to help developers monetise their apps on the new Nokia Asha software platform, as well as on the Series 40 developer platform (6th edition and above). Now in private beta testing, this tool will provide developers with:

  • An easy payment experience for consumers through single-click payments.
  • Competitive revenue payouts.
  • Access to more consumers, with billing in 59 countries through 158 operator relationships. (During the invitation-only beta, we will have limited coverage. This coverage will be expanded in the coming months.)

All this will bring developers access to more consumers, more purchases after downloads, and higher payouts per purchase — all leading to more recurring revenue!

Nokia will be starting the tool roll-out in phases. The invitation-only beta begins today, and a public beta will follow next month.
