Feature phones are receiving a lot of attention lately. Which is good really if you think about it. See, smartphones are everywhere lately but obviously, they’re not necessarily best suited for everyone. There are many people in the society; our senior citizens for instance, who can’t use smartphones really.
With that, Nokia has today unveiled two new feature phones, the Nokia 220 4G, and the Nokia 105 (2019).
Nokia 220 4G
Nokia is sticking to the formula of the original Nokia 220, released back in 2014. It brings a web browser app for all the social media and news, along with some classic games, refreshed in 16 million colors. The beloved Snake comes pre-installed, while Ninja UP! and Tetris are on the try-and-buy program.
The 4G feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch color screen display running at QQVGA resolution. It comes with a solid and durable polycarbonate build. The phone has support for Bluetooth, Facebook, Twitter, and a web browser. It also includes Wireless FM Radio and popular Snake game.
You also get 16MB of RAM and 24MB storage. There is also a VGA camera with an LED flash at the back. To keep things ticking, there is a 1,200mAh battery, which Nokia claims to offer up to 27 days standby and up to 6.3 hours of talktime.
You might think this phone is exactly like the Nokia 105 (2017) with a matching design and lack of any cameras whatsoever but now, it’s even more affordable. It can take up to 2,000 contacts and 500 SMS, and of course, it arrives with LED torchlight – you turn it on with a double click of the Up button.
Nokia 220 4G, Nokia 105 (2019) pricing and availability
The Nokia 220 4G price is set at EUR 39 (approximately KES 4,500). The Nokia 105 (2019) will be available for EUR 13 (approximately KES 1,500). Both will go on sale in August, but local pricing and launch details aren’t available at the moment.
