Wait! MTN Uganda Facebook Zero just got competition from Orange and Airtel

MTN Uganda has been offering a stripped-down version of Facebook called Facebook Zero for a while now through the url 0.facebook.com. Now Orange Uganda too has been offering the mobile version of Facebook via m.facebook.com but we recently noticed that the telecom stopped the free offer on that url.

Instead Orange Uganda silently turned on Free Facebook at 0.facebook.com or what is commonly known as Facebook Zero a couple of months ago. All you have to do is open 0.facebook.com on your phone or computer browser and you’ll get Free interent whether or not you have data.

Airtel Uganda too has Facebook for free which I confirmed through their Twitter handle.

More so, they have “the 3 Musketeers” kind of package of Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and Facebook (WTF) going for only UGX 500 valid for 24 hours. You can check out a whole list of data promotions we created a while back.

The data competition is hitting up as Mobile Telecoms xerox each other. MTN Uganda gives away 15MB for Free every first week of the month while Airtel Uganda offers 20MBs. The latest entrant Vodafone Uganda isn’t showing any signs of aggresiveness in the lower market segement while Smart Telecom just went super crazy with unbelievably low data prices although offers nothing for Free. To sum it up, here’s a table that summaries data Freebies from the Telecoms.
