At its latest Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 6 series with quite a number of new updates, most notably, it brings rotating bezel back. This feature is one that fans of the Galaxy Watch have been asking Samsung to return to the Galaxy Watch for some time now. Thankfully, it is back!
Samsung unveiled two smartwatches at this event: the base-level Galaxy Watch 6 (without a rotating bezel) and the premium Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (comes with a rotating bezel). While these Galaxy smartwatches come with the same sensors as their predecessor, Galaxy Watch 5, they come with bigger batteries and slightly larger screens.
In this article, we will tell you all you should know about this device from Samsung; Price, features, availability, etc.
Design
After many complaints, Samsung decided to reintroduce rotating bezels on the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. If you don’t already know what the rotating bezel is, it is a physical ring sitting on the screen and used for navigating around the device. It is used alongside the display to switch between apps and carry out other activities.
For size, the smaller 40mm Watch 6 and 43mm Watch Classic feature 1.3-inch displays, while the larger 44mm Watch 6 and 47mm Watch Classic in the Watch 6 series feature 1.5-inch displays. The display of this smartwatch has also improved. Both Watches now have a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits, and now support an always-on display
Processor
Unlike their predecessor from a year ago which was powered by the Exynos W920 chip, the new series are powered by Samsung’s Exynos W930 processor. This is a major upgrade from the previous series.
