TECNO Unveils Spark 50 Pro with 6,000mAh Battery, Sony Camera, and Android 16

TECNO has announced the Spark 50 Pro globally — its latest mid-range smartphone running Android 16 out of the box, with a 6,000mAh battery, a 50MP Sony camera sensor, and IP68/IP69 water resistance.

The Spark 50 Pro runs on the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset with 8GB of physical RAM and 256GB of storage. TECNO’s Memory Fusion 4.0 can extend effective RAM to up to 24GB by borrowing from storage. The 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel runs at 120Hz. The rear camera uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 (LYT-600) sensor at f/1.8; TECNO has added a FlashSnap mode that the company says captures action at shutter speeds of up to 1/10,000 of a second. The front camera is 8MP with a dedicated flash for low-light selfies. Build quality is a step up from the standard Spark 50: the chassis is 7.8mm thin, rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance, carries an SGS Five-Star durability certification, and ships with DTS-certified stereo speakers. The box includes the 60W charger and a silicone case.

Battery endurance is the headline spec TECNO is leading with. The 6,000mAh single-cell configuration is rated by the company to hold more than 80% of its original capacity after 1,900 charging cycles — TECNO translates that to roughly six years of daily use before meaningful degradation. Some markets will get a dual-cell 5,600mAh variant instead; 60W charging is standard across both.

Software is HiOS on top of Android 16, which puts the Spark 50 Pro among the first handsets to ship with Google’s latest mobile OS. Bundled AI tools include AI Eraser 2.0 for photo cleanup, AI Noise Cancellation for calls, an AI Health Assistant, and TECNO’s Ella AI assistant. FreeLink 2.0 enables device-to-device communication without a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection — useful in areas with patchy coverage. The camera system also includes Universal Tone, TECNO’s skin-tone-aware processing mode developed with African and Asian complexions in mind, which the company has shipped across its Camon and Phantom lines.

The Spark series is TECNO’s highest-volume range and its core mid-market product across East and Central Africa. The Pro variant positions at the top of the Spark 50 lineup. GSMArena’s hands-on noted the flat-back design draws comparisons to the iPhone 17 Pro, though the IPS LCD panel and Helio G100 chipset place it in a different segment.

Pricing and regional availability are not yet confirmed. The Spark 50 Pro comes in five colours: Dynamic Orange, Midnight Blue, Ink Black, Titanium Gray, and Cloud White.
