Online

  • Surf to the KEMIS website: Navigate to the Kenyan National Education Management Information System (KEMIS) at KEMIS Web App (education.go.ke)
  • Find the Placement Portal: Look for the dedicated section titled “2024 Form One Selection and Placement.”
  • Enter the Details: In the designated fields, fill in your child’s KCPE index number and full name.
  • Hit Search: Click the “Search” button and voila! The system will reveal your child’s assigned school for their Form 1 journey.

SMS

  • Text the Index Number: If you’re tech-savvy but time-pressed, simply open your phone’s message app and type in your child’s KCPE index number.
  • Send to the Right Place: Remember the address? Send the text to 22263.
  • Receive the Result: Within minutes, you’ll receive an SMS stating your child’s designated school for Form 1. Note that this service applies across all mobile networks and incurs a Ksh. 25 fee per SMS.

Tips for a Smooth Process:

  • Have the Index Number Handy: Keep your child’s KCPE index number readily available to avoid last-minute scrambling.
  • Double-Check Details: Before hitting “Search” or sending the SMS, carefully re-read the entered index number and name to ensure accuracy.
  • Stay Calm and Patient: Remember, everyone’s checking on the same day! The system may experience momentary surges, so maintain patience and try again if needed.

Congratulations to all the successful candidates and we wish you all the best in your secondary education. Remember to always work hard and aim high!
