It’s finally here people. No more rumors. No more invites. Whatsapp has finally enabled voice calling to its popular texting App. This might cut your phone bill into more than half in the coming days.
However, before it does, here’s how to get Whatsapp with voice calling.
First you need to be an Android user. Whatsapp voice calling is yet to be offered in other platforms such as iOS, Windows Phone or Blackberry.
Secondly, you need Whatsapp version 2.12.19. This version unfortunately isn’t yet available on the Google Play store. Therefore you can’t install this version of Whatsapp from the Play store on your phone.
Instead you have to download the APK file from this APK Mirror or on WhatsApp’s website. Here how you can do that;
Step 1: Enable your phone to install apps from outside play store
After downloading the apk file, the next step is to prepare your phone to install apps downloaded outside of the official play store. To do that, simply head over to Settings, scroll down to Security, and check Unknown sources.
Step 2: Download the APK File
Go to this link http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ with your computer or phone and click on the download button. The APK file is about 19MB. If you downloaded using your PC, you’ll have to transfer the file to your phone using a USB cable.
Step 3: Install Whatsapp with Voice calling
If you did using your Android phone, then simply tap on the file and click install. The latest version of Whatsapp with Voice calling will be installed on your phone.
Done. If you’ve managed to installed the latest Whatsapp and made some test runs on calling, let us know about your experiences in the comments below.
