Yesterday, Microsoft unveiled the newest Lumia in the Windows 8.1 range: the Lumia 540 Dual SIM.
The smartphone is perfect for young, ambitious people looking for their first serious smartphone, as well as for feature phone users looking to upgrade, it includes a large, 5-inch HD display and is packed with apps and Microsoft services for less than $150. Local availability in East African countries such as Kenya and Uganda and pricing will be announced in coming months according to Lilian Nganda Communications Manager,Nokia East Africa.
With the Lumia 540 Dual SIM, the Lumia portfolio continues to grow and offer smart choices for people seeking variety, value and new mobile experiences, whether it be Skype video calling, using Office on a mobile device, or simply owning a smartphone for the first time Microsoft said.
The device sports 5.0 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen, with a resolution of 20 x 1280 pixels (~294 ppi pixel density).
Its fired up by a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 Qualcomm Snapdragon, runs on 1GB of RAM with 8GB internal memory, 8/5MP rear and front cameras. It’s powered by Li-Ion 2200 mAh battery and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 upgradable to soon coming Windows phone 10.
