DSTV Uganda slashes bouquet prices effective 1st November 2017. Here are the new prices

DSTV Uganda

As has become an annual tradition with MultiChoice, through its subsidiary, DSTV Uganda has announced a significant price reduction effective today, 1st November 2017. This is in preparation for the upcoming festive season. DStv’s strategic move aligns with their commitment to ensuring its customers receive the best possible access to great home entertainment at a pocket-friendly price.

DStv further sweetens the deal with their year-on-year price deductions. In a bid to offer true value for money vis-à-vis the economic situation, DSTv has added extra channels to their bouquets. The DStv Family bouquet will now include additional lifestyle and children channels. SuperSport, too, recently secured WWE broadcasting rights, a first across sub-Saharan Africa. So you have that too, along with La Liga among other international football leagues to look forward to.

“The majority of our input costs are in US dollars and we hope we won’t experience any further currency devaluations or other unexpected increases in costs for the remainder of the year. We will continue to review pricing from time to time, taking into account the economic conditions of our operations.” Charles Hamya, General Manager, MultiChoice Uganda.

“Additionally customers of DStv Compact or DStv Compact Plus who pay on time will view all Sport channels available on DStv Premium for a week after 31 st December 2017. Whereas DStv Access and DStv Family customers who pay on time will view all Sports channels available to DStv Compact for a week after 31 st December 2017.” Phoebe Nakabazzi, Marketing Manager DStv Uganda

DStv Uganda Blue Christmas Promo

As evidenced in the table above, DSTv has consistently revised their rates. We should clarify that these rates differ from those of GOTv Uganda. The Pay-tv giant has often justified their price increments to an unstable dollar. Keep in mind that sourcing for and paying for the content you enjoy is done in dollars, the global monetary lingua franca. Hopefully, the economy will remain stable enough so that we don’t see these unwelcome price hikes. With the entry of big-hitters like KweseTV, DStv has to give its subscribers a reason to stay even as they chalk up more subscriptions.

As if that this offering isn’t enough, DStv is also offering a few perks for its customers. Dubbed ‘Blue Christmas’, the promo will award customers who either purchase the full kit at UGX 132,500 or re-subscribe to the Compact, Compact Plus and Premium bouquets exciting prizes ranging from weekend getaway trips for 2, branded items and subscription.

More on this, DStv will reward subscribers one full week of extra sports channels when they pay for their monthly active DStv subscriptions on time. DStv Compact or DStv Compact Plus subscribers will watch all Sports channels available on DStv Premium for a week after the payment from 31st December 2017. Those subscribing to DStv Access and DStv Family will watch all Sports channels available to DStv Compact for a week after the payment.
