If you’ve wanted to send money to MTN Uganda as well as send to and receive money from Safaricom Kenya, the steps are very simple. All you need to do is to ensure that you have sufficient Mobile Money funds on your account.

The steps:

  • Dial *830#
  • Enter Receiving number (+256xxxxxxx or +254xxxxxxx)
  • Enter amount
  • You will receive a message with amount and forex exchange details. Press 1 to confirm
  • You will receive a message prompting you to approve the debit
  • Dial *182# – Pending Approvals – Approve amount by entering your MM Pin
  • The transfer is processed. You will receive a notification that the money has been sent successfully.

A few seconds after, the receiver is notified on his phone that he has received a money transfer, indicating the amount that has been transferred in the currency of the destination country as well as your name – the sender. The receiver may then check his MTN Mobile Money account balance and cash out the remittance, or use the money for any MTN Mobile Money service.
