This is not the first time we’re seeing a company inviting photographers to submit their best works for a chance to be featured. Ask any Linux enthusiast and they’ll tell you that Ubuntu runs the same competition just before the launch of a new OS every 6 months. Between you and me, that’s the best place to get wallpapers for your desktop.
Joining the bandwagon is Apple. The company is kicking off 2019 by celebrating the most stunning photographs captured on iPhone. This competition is open to all iPhone users who are being invited to submit their best shots.
“From January 22 to February 7, Apple is looking for outstanding photographs for a Shot on iPhone Challenge. A panel of judges will review worldwide submissions and select 10 winning photos, to be announced in February.
What is at stake you ask? The winning photos will be featured on billboards in select cities, Apple retail stores and online.
Submitting Your Best Shot
To participate in this challenge, simply post your photo taken on an iPhone on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #ShotOniPhone. Weibo users haven’t been left behind. They can participate by posting their entries using #ShotOniPhone#.
Also important to note is that when making your entry, remember to indicate the model of iPhone used to take the photo in the caption.
Alternatively, users can also submit the photo in its highest resolution to firstname.lastname@example.org with the file format ‘firstname_lastname_iphonemodel.’ Photos can be straight from the camera, edited through Apple’s editing tools in the Photos app or with third-party software.
Submissions for photos begins at 12:01 a.m. PST on January 22 and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on February 7. Apple also requires that participants in this challenge must be 18 years of age or older so no minors allowed here. Also locked out of this challenge are Apple employees or their immediate family members.
