Today, Huawei is throwing yet another hat in the ring with the launch of the Huawei Y9s in Kenya.

The Huawei Y9s comes hot in the heel of the success of last year’s Huawei Y9 2019 and the Huawei Y9 Prime in the Kenyan market. Huawei Y9s is the rebadged version of the Honor 9X which was launched in China in July this year.

The Honor 9X features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ display with 1080 X 2340 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by a 7nm octa-core HUAWEI Kirin 710F SoC with ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Also announced today are the Huawei Band 4 series. These are two fitness trackers. The Huawei Band 4 series brings some of the Huawei Watch GT features to an affordable price segment. The Band 4 is the bigger variant as it sports a 0.96-inches (80 x 160 pixels) full touchscreen display, a dedicated home button, Bluetooth 4.2 support, micro USB charging port, and a 91mAh battery that can last for up to 9 days.

The Huawei Band 4e, on the other hand, is a watered-down version of the Band 4. It features a smaller 0.5-inches non-touchscreen display, a capacitive home button, and a smaller 77 mAh battery that can be recharged via the USB-to-pin charging cradle.

Some other key features of both bands include sleep monitoring, message & call notifications, alarm reminder, Find My Phone, etc.

Pricing and Availability

The prices for Huawei Band 4 Series in Kenya are as follows : –

  • Huawei Band 4 costs Ksh 4,699 and is available in three (3) color variants: Graphite Black, Sakura Pink, and Amber Sunrise.
  • Huawei Band 4e will set you back by Ksh 3,199 only. It is available in six (6) color options: Misty Grey, Sakura Coral, Seaweed Green. Ceylon Yellow, Alizarin Red, and Cobalt Violet.

Back to the Huawei Y9s, the recommended retail price for the 6GB+128GB variant in Kenya is Ksh. 31,999.
