The affordable smartwatch and wearable space is dominated by a few Chinese players like Huawei with their Honor and Huawei Band products, along with Xiaomi with the Redmi Watches and the Mi Smart Bands. But these aren’t the only players in this market segment.
Amazfit has been churning out really compelling products at roughly comparable prices with the Huawei Bands and Mi Bands of the world and now, we have a new pair of devices in form of the Bip 3 and the Bip 3 Pro.
Amazfit Bip 3 and Bip 3 Pro specs
The Bip 3 and Bip 3 Pro are essentially identical smartwatches with the only advantage of the Bip 3 Pro over the Bip 3 being the inclusion of GPS support. So what do these smartwatches bring to the market?
- 1.69” Large Color Display
- 2 Weeks’ Battery Life
- 5 ATM Water-resistance
- 60 Sports Modes
- Blood-oxygen Saturation Measurement SpO2
From these modest specs, you can probably already infer that this device isn’t exactly a powerhouse. It covers all the basics while giving you a few smart tracking features. It still runs on RTOS and as such, lacks support for third-party apps.
The 1.68 -inch display means you have just enough real estate to get the essential info without feeling cramped. The 2 weeks battery life is at par with many other offers although, in real life, you should expect about a week between charges.
Blood oxygen saturation sensors have been a staple in many recent fitness trackers and smartwatches and we’re glad to see it here.
Amazfit Bip lineup
The launch of the Bip 3 and Bip 3 Pro means that the lineup of Bip devices from Amazfit now consists of 6 devices.
Of course, there is the Amazfit Band 5 and with the looming launch of the Amazfit Band 7, that lineup is also set to get a little more comprehensive so users will soon have even more options.
Pricing and Availability
Amazfit Bip 3 starts from as low as $59.99 while the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro goes for just $10 more at $69.99 from the official website. Both devices are available in a few colors including Pink, Black, and Cream. Bip 3 Pro pink and cream will be available in July.
