Infinix Smart 8 Pricing and Availability in Kenya

In a world where smartphones have matured and OEMs seem to only be iterating their existing offerings, it is easy to forget that there are devices outside of the flagships that get featured in all the reviews and commercials, devices that have a lot to offer for not so much money.

Transsion’s brands (Infinix, TECNO, and iTel) have for many years brought so much value for money in the local smartphone space while having a device for every user from the entry-level to the mid and even the high-end segment of the market.

The Infinix Smart series represents the company’s entry-level product line. To attain the price that they go for, you have had to sacrifice quite a bit but that is not always the case and the new Smart 8 is true testament to that.

Infinix Smart 8 Specs

  • Display: 6.6” IPS LCD screen
  • OS: Android 13
  • Chipset: Unisoc T606 (12 nm)
  • Memory: 4+64GB/128GB
  • Main Camera: 13MP + 0.3 MP
  • Selfie Camera: 8MP
  • Battery: Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable

Perhaps the star of the show is the incorporation of a 90Hz refresh rate, a feature that’s long been exclusive to higher-end devices. This should no-doubt improve the user experience, making the operation much smoother despite the relatively underpowered chipset running the show.

The rear of the device houses the 13MP main camera along with a rather useless 0.3MP sensor. There’s also a ring light flash made to look like a third camera but in all fairness, this was probably done to give the silhouette of a certain very high-end, very expensive device.

Pricing and Availability

The device comes in a few color options including Timber Black, Shiny Gold, and Crystal Green.

The Infinix Smart 8 goes for KES 15,299.00 and you can purchase it directly from Infinix through their XPark online shop, or shop around for better deals on Jumia or other e-commerce platforms. The device should also be available in local stores over the next few weeks.

Should you be in the market for this, maybe also look at the Tecno Spark 8 or the iTel A70, devices that equally offer value for money.
