Equitel has become the first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) to launch 5G services in Africa. This, in collaboration with Airtel Kenya. This exciting development adds to the existing 5G providers in Kenya, with Safaricom pioneering the rollout in October 2022, followed by Airtel in July 2023.
5G is the fifth generation of cellular network technology, offering significantly faster speeds, lower latency (reduced delays), and the ability to connect many more devices at once compared to older 4G/LTE networks.
