Following the recent digital migration switch in Uganda from analog to digital, the rush by laggards to stay connected is more than unprecedented.

However fraudsters in the greater metropolitan of Kampala are using this as a golden opportunity to defraud the unsuspecting ones. These fellows have technically bought out digital migration stock from the market, especially DStv’s Zapper Decoders, and are reselling them for high.

In a statement, by MultiChoice Uganda Limited, it says that it is pleased to inform its esteemed customers and the general public of an ongoing DStv Sale for the Zapper Decoder at a price cut of UGX 99,900/= from UGX 309,000/=.

The offer runs from 1st June, 2015, and remains valid while stock lasts [projected to be at least 3 weeks]. It includes a full kit (HD Zapper decoder and 90cm dish plus accessories) and one month subscription for the Access Package. The recommended fee for installation is UGX 50,000 for areas within a radius of 10Km from our offices, while other rates may apply for locations beyond.

It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous persons are selling the offer product at higher prices. We have commenced investigations into the claims and apologize for any inconveniences caused. We therefore, urge our customers to report to us any sales agent or outlet charging higher prices than what is on offer, such that corrective action against the fraudsters can be taken.
