President Obama announced the Washington fellowship for young African leaders earlier last year. The Young African Leaders Initiative is now accepting applications for its 2014 program. The Initiative is geared to changing Africa by training and mentoring Young African leaders while equipping them with skills and providing opportunities to propel economic growth, prosperity and strengthening of democratic institutions in Africa.
The program will provide leadership training, professional development, and mentoring to 500 accomplished young leaders each year, beginning in 2014.The Initiative targets Young African leaders in the sectors of Public Management, Business and Entrepreneurship and Civic Leadership.
