Whether you’re a family person, dedicated to a project or goal, at the end of the month, you probably have several people you send money to. Sometimes, because of how daunting monthly payments can be, it’s a little inconvenient to keep repeating these transfers every time your salary hits your bank account. This is why Bento recently launched its ‘commitments’ feature to help you automate your monthly payments.

What is Bento?

Bento Africa is a payroll app that allows employers to schedule all pending payments such as salaries, tax, pension, and health insurance. The Bento app is not only built for employers, fortunately. Employees can also access their salaries in advance, add beneficiaries to their health insurance and pay monthly rent instead of annually. You can also access your payslips over time along with other data. The payroll management company available in Nigeria has also recently expanded to Ghana, Kenya, and Rwanda.

How Does the Bento Commitments Feature Work

The newly launched Bento Commitments feature is designed to help you automate regular monthly payments directly from your payroll. So for example, if you take out a certain amount for your building project, savings, or you directly send money to your family members, you can automate it directly from your salary on Bento. All you have to do is add them as a commitment. By setting up your commitments, you don’t need to worry about manually making transfers anymore. It also saves you the extra charges that come with banking transaction fees.

How to Automate Monthly Payments on Bento

Before activating this, you need to:

  • Ensure your employer uses Bento for their payroll management. You can verify this directly from your employer but if they do use Bento, you should get monthly texts notifying you that your salary has been authorized.
  • Have your correct login details handy. This should be your work email/phone number and Bento password.

Once all of this is ready, here’s how to set up commitments on Bento;

  1. Login to the Bento employee App or website
  2. On your dashboard, tap on the “Set up Commitments” section
  3. Scroll down and click on “Add Commitment”
  4. Fill out the form and click on “Add Commitment”

Repeat the steps above to add more beneficiaries to your payslip. All transfer fees are also free. So for every commitment Bento makes payment to, you don’t pay any extra charge.

Now, who will you be committing to this month? Share this post with your friends and family who might find this article useful.
