Hello, David here. I’m one of the writers at Dignited. For the past decade, my team and I, along with passionate tech enthusiasts, have dedicated ourselves to delivering the latest tech developments, reviewing standout tech products, and crafting detailed how-to tutorials.
However, since 2023, the web has undergone significant changes. The rise of generative AI has led to an influx of spammy, low-quality content. Additionally, search engines like Google have further complicated matters. Last September, we were hit hard by Google’s Helpful Content Update, which resulted in a loss of up to 95% of our traffic. For the past year, we’ve been re-evaluating our approach.
After much discussion, we’ve decided to remain committed to our mission: showcasing the best in tech from African writers based in Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria. We’re still passionate about providing insights into great tech products, analyzing trends, creating in-depth how-to guides, covering product launches, and highlighting African tech innovations.
Moving forward, we want to take control of our content distribution. Instead of relying on Google, social media, or other third parties, we’re focusing on email. We invite you to subscribe to our newsletter, where you’ll receive our best content directly. The success of this initiative depends on our ability to build a robust subscriber base. Without it, continuing our work as we’ve always done may not be feasible.
