No more excuses of delayed traffic in Kampala, the options have become relevant. Uber, the mobile app best known for car ride hailing, has launched its services in line with the Boda-boda industry.
With significant growth visible in this industry, and the public seemingly welcome, the company joins SafeBoda and Taxify that are also plying the same trade.
How does uberBODA work?
uberBODA will exist alongside uberX on your Uber app, and the option to use will automatically be visible to you when you are within the uberBODA service area.

BODA service areas
At the moment, uberBODA is available but not limited to the following areas: Makerere, Mulago, Lubiri, St. Balikuddembe market, Qualicel Bus Terminal, New and Old Taxi Park , Nakasero Market, Kikuubo Lane, Shawuli yako market ,Kampala Mukadde , Nakawa Market, Makerere University, KIU -Kansanga, Kabaka Anjagala road.

Here’s how to request a ride:
- Open the Uber app, set your destination within the uberBODA service area
- Select uberBODA at the bottom of the app
- Tap on “confirm uberBODA”
- Your uberBODA will be on the way
The Pricing.
UberBODA pricing is as follows;
- Minimum fare – UGX 1,500
- Cancellation fee – UGX 1,500
- Base fare – UGX 500
- Per Kilometre – UGX 450
- Per Minute – UGX 70
