itel Mobile Nigeria has launched a new set of budget-friendly smartphones for Nigerians. The new itel S16 series (S16 and S16 Pro), although budget-friendly, are packed with some really cool specifications you most likely wouldn’t find on just any budget smartphone.

The itel brand has been providing mobile technology solutions in the African market for the past 12 years — holding a 19% market share of the phone market on the continent. itel is also one of the top 3 global feature phone brands in the last 2 years.

The itel S16 Pro features a 13 Megapixel AI triple rear camera, 2 Megapixel macro camera, and a depth-sensing camera. It also comes with an 8 Megapixel selfie camera. The device is also equipped with ‘Dirty Lens Detection’ technology that pops up as an alert when it detects dirt on your phone’s camera lens.

Design

Comparing the S16 series to previously-released series (itel S15, itel P33, etc), there has been a significant improvement to the design and overall aesthetic. The itel S16 Pro comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ full-screen display. It is also splash-proof and dustproof.

Battery Power

The S16 is packed with a 4000mAh battery, as well as an upgraded AI power master feature that helps to manage the phone and apps performance. According to itel, this will help to extend the device’s battery life by 35%.
