The Xiaomi-made Mi Box S has been the go-to streaming device for many people looking to get an Android TV experience on their devices. It is crazy to think that this device was unveiled back in 2018. That is 4 years ago!
For all the things that the Mi Box S got right, there were some inherent drawbacks but for the price, it was pretty hard to expect more. The device remains relevant even today but one aspect that hasn’t aged well is the storage.

Well, Xiaomi has just unveiled the Mi Box S’ successor, the Mi Box 4S Max, and this Android box might be the one to get in 2022., if you can.
So what does this streaming box have to offer?

The Mi Box 4S is powered by the AMlogic S905X3 SoC. This is a Quad-Core manufactured in 12 nm. A chip with ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 1.5 GHz speed and also integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU.
This box comes with a full-size USB 3.0 Type-A port and a video output HDMI 2.1 4K@60fps HDR and supposedly also 8K support.
Perhaps one of the biggest and most notable upgrades over the previous generation is storage. The Mi Box 4S Max comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This should be more than enough to install and run all possible games and apps on your TV.
In fact, such expansive storage should even allow you to store media files like music and movies on your Android Box, thereby negating the need to have external storage devices plugged in.
In China, the new box runs Xiaomi’s MIUI for TV skin also included is support for Bluetooth remote control.

Pricing and Availability
Well, you can’t get your hands on the Mi Box 4S Max just yet. Currently, it is available in China and goes for about $75 (499¥).
Xiaomi has since confirmed that the Mi Box 4S Max won’t be coming to global markets. This is a giant bummer as many users have been looking forward to an upgrade to the Mi Box S.
