Lenovo Z5 Pro GT: Introducing The World’s First 12GB RAM Phone

Z5 Pro GT

When smartphones with 8GB RAM hit the market, we thought we’d seen it all. Little did we know things were about to go ablaze! This year alone, not less than five smartphones were launched with 10GB RAM. It’s interesting that Lenovo announced the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT with 12GB RAM when 2018 hasn’t even ended. As this has raised the standards, trust me, we’re in for a treat in 2019.

Let’s not salivate on tech like 5G that’s coming to smartphones next year yet. For now, let’s focus on the fact that Z5 Pro GT isn’t just the first phone with 12GB RAM, it’s also the first to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The truth is, the smartphone is a storehouse of flagship qualities.

Folks, at this juncture, I’ll like us to delve deeper.

Massive RAM

Naturally, the 12GB RAM that’s equipped on this device delivers seamless multitasking. Given the attention gaming smartphones are receiving right now, the RAM size makes the phone enthralling. It teams up with 512GB ROM to offer an outrageous capacity to store numerous forms of files.

However, there are other memory configurations the smartphone is availed in. These include:

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM

Sadly enough, there’s no memory card slot on the smartphone. But honestly, if you aren’t an Oliver Twist, the storage capacity should be enough.

In the early days of this month, Qualcomm launched its first 7nm chipset called the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. And now, Lenovo has usurped expectations by being the first device with the flagship chipset. By the way, 7nm chipset should ring a bell; I’m talking about Apple’s Bionic A12 chipset & Huawei’s Kirin 980 chipset.

On this chipset, there are three clusters of CPU cores totalling eight — these cores clock at a max of 2.84GHz. Additionally, Qualcomm’s 4th-gen multi-core AI engine finetunes the AI performance on the smartphone.

The phone features an ultrasonic fingerprint recognition thanks to the chip’s 3D sonic sensor support. Interestingly, the sensor is found below the phone’s screen, that is, under-display.

Quadruplet of cameras

In total, four fantastic shooters are on the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT for photography wellness. Two of these are found at the top central area of the phone’s carbon fibre-designed rear. The two cameras are equipped with 16MP and 24MP sensors as well as dual-LED flash.

To reveal the other two cameras, the phone needs to be slid lightly. The light push will show forth the 16MP and 8MP selfie cameras at the top. Besides, there’s an infrared close to the cameras for face recognition.

More excellent features…

Removing the cameras from the screen led to 95.06% being churned out as the screen-to-body ratio. That leaves immense pleasure to be enjoyed on the phone’s 6.39 inches Super AMOLED screen. The screen’s resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels. And, Android Pie OS together with ZUI 10.0 runs the software actions on the phone.

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is powered by a non-removable 3,350mAh battery. Connectivity-wise, Bluetooth 5.0, WLAN, USB-C, NFC and GPS are all on board.
