The company was founded in 2013 and is part of the Transsion Holdings trio with Tecno and Itel Mobile. 2018 has been a fantastic year for Infinix and the company has outed a number of smartphones this year including an Android One Infinix Note 5 with AI capabilities.

Infinix Note 5 (June)
Infinix Mobility launched the Note 5 in June at an event that happened in Dubai. The Note 5 tops the list of the best Infinix smartphones of 2018. A formidable device, the Note 5 has a powerful Helio P23 processor, decent 12MP & 16MP cameras. It also sports a 6-inch Full HD screen and decent memory 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The major highlights of the Note 5 included Android One and 3 days of battery with moderate usage. With constant security patches and software updates straight from Google, the Note 5 is definitely one of the best affordable devices of 2018. Infinix S3 (April)
This is the successor to the Infinix S2 and it came with a few changes in design, build material and aspect ratio. The Infinix S3 is an amazing smartphone with the standard specs of a 2018 affordable device like 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM and good cameras. To add icing to the cake, Infinix threw Face ID in the mix. Consequently, users can unlock their phone just by looking at it.
The Infinix S3 was the first Infinix phone to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. It rocks an infinity display, upgraded battery, face ID, a 20MP low light selfie camera and expandable memory. The Infinix S3 is currently priced at UGX 750,000. Infinix Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro (May)
In May, Infinix Mobility released a pair of Hots in Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro. Both devices are aesthetically pleasing to the eye mimicking premium looks. The regular Hot 6 runs Android Go Edition while the Pro version runs Android 8.1.

Both these devices share a lot in common, just as many other Infinix releases this year. From the Infinity display and the 18:9 aspect ratios to the 4,000mAh batteries and poly-carbonate finishing. The striking difference comes in when you flip the Hot 6 double to the back. The Hot 6 Pro features dual 13Mp +2Mp cameras while the regular Hot 6 has only a single 8Mp shooter.
The Hot 6 Pro comes at UGX 539,000 ($143) while the Hot 6 retails at UGX 468,000 ($124).
Infinix Hot S3X (August)
To follow up the S3 firsts, Infinix introduced one of the most talked about affordable phones of 2018, the S3X. The S3X is the first Infinix device to have a notch display which is one of the new trends in display technology. Think of it like having the iPhone X without having to break the bank.
The new notch display brings a whole new feeling and experience to your phone. Combined with the premium look and feel, it makes the S3X the perfect and most affordable lifestyle device on the market. The Tecno Camon 11 is the other notched option. The S3X omitted the 20mp front shooter on the S3 but still offers beautiful photos on both sides of the phone.
