1. AirPods (1st Generation)
The 1st generation of AirPods was released in 2016. It came with motion and speech detection sensors and can last more than 24 hours of listening time. According to Apple, 15 minutes in the case equals 3 hours listening time or over an hour of talk time with AirPods 1.

2. AirPods (2nd Generation)
AirPods 2 was released in 2019. Running on Apple’s H1 headphone chip, AirPods 2 has up to 5 hours of listening time with a single charge and up to 3 hours of talk time with a single charge. The battery is better managed with AirPods 2 than AirPods 1 as 15 minutes in the case provides up to 3 hours listening time or up to 2 hours talk time.

3. AirPods Pro
Here’s an upgrade to the 2nd generation of AirPods. AirPods Pro comes with Active Noise Cancellation and Spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. 4. AirPods Max
AirPods Max is slightly different as it is not the regular in-ear earbuds. AirPods Max is an over-the-ear headphone that was released in 2020. It also comes with Active Noise Cancellation and runs on the Apple H1 headphone chip. AirPods Max boasts up to 20 hours of talk time on a single charge.
